Internet technology is present as a multifunctional media. Communication over the Internet can be either interpersonal (e.g e-mail and chat), or mass, known as one to many communication (e.g mailing lists). When we’re talking about technology education, Internet is also able to attend in real time audio visual as in the conventional method with the application teleconference.

Based on this, the internet as a medium of education can expose distinct characteristics, namely
a. as interpersonal and mass media;
b. interactive,
c. allows synchronous or asynchronous communication.

This characteristic allows the student to communicate with sources of knowledge more broadly than simply using conventional media.
Internet technology support students who have limited space and time to still be able to enjoy education. Modern methods can be modified in the form of communication via e-mail, mailing lists, and chat, where experts will discuss with members of the mailing list. This method can eliminate the distance between the experts with the students. The atmosphere is warm and informal on mailing lists turned out to be an effective way of learning.

Here are some of the benefits of using information technology:
• keep information current to flow every time with no limit of time and place;
• ease of getting a complete resource,
• improved student learning activities,
• increased capacity,
• the standardization of learning,
• improve learning outcomes both quantity / quality.

Based on the above description, it can be said that the Internet is no substitute for the education system. Internet presence is more supplementary and complementary. Conventional methods are needed, only to be modified into other forms. Talk and chalk method is modified into an online conferencing and discussions via the mailing list.
